Sewing for Adults (Beginners)

Always wanted to sew but never knew where to start? Or maybe you’ve got a machine gathering dust in the cupboard? Our adult sewing courses take you from the very first stitch to confidently finishing your own projects, in a relaxed, friendly space.

You’ll get to know your machine, learn essential techniques, and understand fabrics and patterns, all while making pieces you’ll actually use and love. Beyond the skills, it’s a chance to slow down, switch off your phone, and spend a few hours simply making. Beginners warmly welcome.

Sewing for Adults (Intermediate)

Ready to make your first garment? This course is for sewists who are comfortable at the machine and want to take the leap into dressmaking. If you can thread your machine, sew a straight seam and have finished a few simple projects, you’re ready.

We start by demystifying sewing patterns. You’ll learn how to read the envelope and instructions, understand markings and symbols, take your own measurements, and lay out and cut pattern pieces correctly. Once patterns stop feeling like a foreign language, everything else falls into place.

Step by step, you’ll work through a pattern to create a garment of your own. By the end, you’ll walk away with a finished piece and the confidence to sew on your own.

Prerequisite: completion of our Beginner Sewing course or equivalent experience.
