Around the Islands: Natural History Museum

Museum of Natural History - Mdina Malta

I need no amount of coercion to visit Mdina; even if it’s just to stroll the streets on a quiet afternoon.

Last Sunday we took a trip to Mdina to visit the Museum of Natural History.

We had been there before, but this was H’s first time.

Upon entering a room with large stuffed tigers, monkeys and other animals, we could hear him utter ‘Oh, this is so cool’ while he gripped on tight to his father.

It was not difficult to guess that the fish would be his favourite.

Life-size skeletons that even I find a little intimidating.

Someone was getting a bit antsy and the rock and mineral collection wasn’t exciting enough.

After all that education, we needed refreshing. We visited a beautiful cafe hidden from the main street, and climbed 2 flights of stairs to get to the terrace.

Henry decided to use my empty sugar packet as a holder for his ginger cookie.

And a trip to Mdina is not complete without a visit to the large playground with added amusement rides that H just loves.

If you’re in Mdina, the Museum of Natural History is worth a visit.
