What do you get when you set up a Pop Up Shop with four unique retailers? Magic. Pure Magic.
It was no surprise that I was excited to learn about these shops getting together for a pop up shop, since they fall into my list of all time favourite shops in Malta – stocking cute, affordable, stylish, original, creative and good quality items for littles and their mamma’s – Yay! This is one Pop Up I do not want to miss.
The Date:
20th September 2017
The Venue:
The Valletta Waterfront
The Vendors:
Some of my readers may already know that I have a soft spot for stories about passionate people that are lead to create wonderful products and brands hence, every great design begins with an even better story. These four lovely ladies (who also happen to be mums) brought their dreams and passions to life.
If you haven’t heard of these amazing shops before, allow me to tell you a little more about them:
Apparel by Belle
Annabelle took to sewing after her husband bought her a pink sewing machine (how cute is that?) encouraging her to put her creative hands to work.
She creates a beautiful array of perfectly simple and stylish handmade baby essentials ranging from blankets to muslins, teethers to carry pouches. With attention to detail, Belle designs and creates products which offer style as well as functionality to home and life.
Kekstor.
When you meet Alexia, you’ll soon find out that her smiles and giggles are highly contagious. Alexia founded the ever so quirky Kekstor. As a mum of 3 she knows a thing or two about the importance of imagination and open-ended play and she has made this the focus of the selection of items she sells in her shop.
Kekstor. offers a wonderfully enchanting selection of toys and products to decorate your child’s bedroom, playroom or nursery. We absolutely adore that she selects toys which are designed to unleash little (and big!) imaginations. You’re sure to find something unique at Kekstor.
My Barefoot Island
Meet Luiza, the founder of My Barefoot Island. As a world traveller she has a strong love for all things natural, handmade, organic and minimal . You can easily tell that she has an eye for detail through the items she carefully selects for her collection.
The pieces in her collection are clearly a reflection of her free spirited charm and lend her customers the ability to add authentic items to both modern and traditional spaces. Luiza hand-picks items for her shop that support fair trade and share an ethos for quality and attention to detail. Beautiful baskets, towels that double as throws – luxury items that areas functional as they are beautiful.
Three Little Pigs
Specialising mostly in wooden toys is Three Little Pigs. Forget your average toy shops, this concept boutique toy store run by Lisa is charming, delightful as well as interactive. Lisa carefully selects charming international brands for her shop. Her collection of items includes toys that are designed to inspire creativity and encourage wonder.
The toys you’ll find at Three Little Pigs will excite children to rediscover the art of playing by going back to basics as well as enjoy the simple pleasures of childhood thereby allowing them to be drawn into the magic of their own world.
