I have been meaning to write a few posts about H’s first birthday and all the things I made but things have gone a bit hectic lately so as usual things were put off, but here is a start… and more to follow.
Just after the New Year I realised that the time had come for me to crack down on planning H’s First Birthday Party! The thought of the planning made me giddy and the thought of him turning one made me so happy and proud. I am sure it is a time that every parent looks forward to celebrating and I was so excited to be one of those parents.
Good thing or not, I am a perfectionist and I dive into any project whole heartedly! And this first birthday project was definitely one of those projects!
The theme I decided to go with was inspired by Dr. Seuss’s book: ‘Oh the Places You’ll Go’… for oh so many reasons. I wanted to go with the travel aspect and soon realised that I was going to find few things in terms of decorations and supplies! Its very sad to see that most shops and supplies are heavily concentrated on cartoon characters. The way I see it is that there will likely be other birthdays that H may request with a particular character, so I was happily up for the challenge of putting this together.
I knew I didn’t need very much. but I knew I wanted details… its all in the detail. We were only having a very small gathering with our family and few friends at out home so I knew I didn’t need anything on a large scale.
I’m going to be posting about all the different decorations I made and how the party came together.
